STABILITY ANALYSIS
VETERANS MEMORIAL COLISEUM
PORTLAND, OR
JRD Structural produced an engineered plan for structural steel demolition and erection for improvements in an existing arena facility. Services included sequencing of demolition and erection, evaluation of existing members during demolition, and design of temporary bracing.

The project required stability analysis of new slender trusses and existing roof trusses while bracing elements were removed and replaced.

Limited overhead clearance required the use of multiple cranes for several of the critical demolition and erection activities.
Existing Structure Loading Evaluation
Fairhaven Shipyard
Bellingham, WA
JRD Structural evaluated the loading of concrete pump truck outriggers and concrete mixer axle loads on an existing pier. The pier consisted of steel, precast concrete and cast-in-place concrete elements.

JRD Structural was able to provide recommendations on the location and spacing of equipment, facilitating efficient concrete placing operations.

Rigging Design for Fabricated Steel Panels
JRD Structural completed rigging designs for lifting and manipulating 32' x 40' stiffened steel plate panels weighing up 42,000 lbs.

Due to constraints in the fabrication shop and at the installation location, multiple rigging designs were required, including a method for flipping the panels for installation.
